Domain Registration

The first step in creating your own website is registering the domain.

The domain is the web address that people will type into their browser to get to your website. For example: Google's domain is www.google.com.

When you sign up for a hosting plan, your web host will typically let you register one domain name for free or offer one for $10 (or less) a year.

If you just need a domain registered by itself, there are register websites that you can use. One of the most popular is GoDaddy.com.

Make sure the domain name you want is available. Once someone used it, noone else can take it. The same goes for when you get yours, noone else will be able to use it.

FREE Domains are possible. Typically, websites will offer free websites in exchange for limitations and forceful advertising on what you make using their domain. The domain you get for using their service will be a subdomain of their website. For example: www.Freewebsite.Yourwebsite.com

Now that you have your domain registered, let's move on to Hosting Plans.
